Cotterill Edits Resistance Magazine – and Gets Fired After Swindling the
National Alliance out of $100,000
Cotterill was also one of the only two ever elected councillors, seats which were promptly lost the very next election. Cotterill
began his political life in the British National Party. Although John
Tyndall cast aspersions on his racial background, Cotterill was allowed to
join and remain a member of the BNP. After he was attacked by leftist thugs,
Cotterill left to try and immigrate to the Cotterill
settled in Falls Church, It
was not long, however, before Cotterill began casting around looking for
something more exciting. After starting the “American Friends of the
BNP” – ostensibly to raise money in America for the BNP, Cotterill
caught the eye of the leader of the National Alliance, Dr. William Pierce.
Seemingly
impressed with Cotterill’s ability to produce a magazine (his Heritage
and Destiny photocopy quality magazine notwithstanding), Pierce offered
Cotterill a job: become editor of Resistance magazine, the hard core
skinhead-oriented publication originally founded by George Burdi (Hawthorne) of the Church of the Creator-supporting band, Rahowa. Cotterill
was therefore appointed editor of Resistance magazine, under the pen
name Andrew Miller, in 1999. However,
Cotterill only ever managed to produce one issue of Resistance, #9. In the
process, he swindled Pierce and the National Alliance out of $100,000 in
expenses! When
Pierce discovered the extent of the theft, he fired Cotterill straight away.
Cotterill then fled back to England
where no-one knew of his swindling of the National Alliance. This email from current National Alliance chairman Erich Gliebe contains the story:
